The title encapsulates a lesson and way to live despite . . .
She doesn’t hide that she has been broken. No need we. Yet, look and listen with your heart what she is doing with the broken pieces. Giving abundantly. Does it matter much that we are broken if we let ourselves be a gift to others? Does it matter at all? By weaving her broken life, her care for others with, at times, poetic prose she breaks the spell that brokenness is final and determines who we are.Practicing gratitude and giving ourselves, over and over and over helps us over ourselves and being defined by being broken. Soak in her message. Marinate in it; then practice living it.

This book is amazing, life changing and beautifully written. The beautiful pictures, feel and quality of the cover and the pages make this book a healing, soothing and inspiring experience. A Beautiful Book about Being a Gift to Others!
I’m always looking for new Christian inspirational reads and I came upon this one during my searches. I have never read any books by Ann Voskamp before but I’ve heard great things about them. I liked the idea behind this one with turning brokenness into a gift for others so I pre-ordered it.When this book arrived, I was a bit surprised by it because it’s more like a small coffee table book rather than a book with chapters. Still, I liked it when I paged through it. The hardcover edition measures 6 3/4 inches by 7 1/4 inches by just under an inch. The book is beautiful and has lots of colorful pictures beside each reading. The readings seem similar to devotions and take up about a page each and give lots of thoughts, examples, Bible verses, and other inspirational sayings to support the ideas behind what Voskamp is saying. I like the calm way each of these readings is written and they feel soothing to read. From the ones I’ve read so far, they encourage you to examine yourself so that you can be a gift to others. There are 199 pages of readings and pictures, six pages to write down how you’ve given to others (like a journal) and 60 simple ways to be a gift to others. The hardcover edition also contains gift tags and a ribbon bookmark. This book is printed on nice, thick paper.At first I was surprised by the type of book it is but I’m still glad I purchased it! It’s like a small coffee table book and would look great on a coffee table, end table, nightstand, waiting room, or anyplace else you can think of to display books. I like how you can just read one page or several at a time if you want. This would make a beautiful gift for yourself or others for Christmas or any other time of the year!
